With the huge surge in people working remotely and from home lots of us are having to; learn a new lifestyle, find a new life work balance and prioritise mental health and wellbeing even more. But where do you start? The world of wellbeing is saturated and overwhelming in itself!

More people are resorting to pursue working for themselves and work that gives them a sense of purpose. This seems to be a driving factor and contribute to greater happiness more than wealth or a lot of possessions. But how do you work out whats important to you? What your purpose is? 

Research is now showing that being isolated working alone or from home may even make it a lot harder to lead a fulfilled life and pursue goals. It is proving we need social support to help lower levels of health-harming cortisol and activate dopamine - rich areas of the brain. It is also revealing that one of the commonalities in places where people live the healthiest, happiest and longest, is where they have more of an emphasis on social circles that support healthy behaviours. So it's true that you are the sum of the people you hang around with. Do you need to surround yourself with more upbeat people?

Having supported so many people with their wellbeing over the years, we know that the most important work to be done is linked with a mindset shift; from ‘this is just how it is’ to ‘this is how I choose it to be’. Without this work, wellbeing practices like after-work yoga, exercising and journalling are just sticky plasters.
