Nutritional Therapy
Nutritional therapy focuses on the use or elimination of particular foods, vitamins, minerals and nutrients in order to improve the health and wellbeing of a patient. The principles applied are not new – it has been used since Grecian times, where Hippocrates used it to help people of all stages to stay at their personal peak of energy and vitality. The discipline is holistic in that it is designed to treat the body as a whole, tackling the cause, rather than the symptoms, of a problem, an approach which is often overlooked by conventional medicine.
Our Nutritional Therapists
Our team of top BANT nutritional therapists work with a scientific and holistic approach to your health from our clinic in Stockport, Manchester. During a consultation they will discuss any health issues that you would like to improve and explore how diet may be contributing to the symptoms that you are experiencing and where appropriate nutritional supplements may be used to support the process. Each nutritional therapist specialises in a certain area such as Female Health, Depression & Anxiety, IBS, Fertility, Children's Health, Menopause & Sports Nutrition.
The Consultation
When you arrange the consultation, you will be asked to fill in a questionnaire giving details of any health issues you may have as well as information about your dietary habits and lifestyle.
The initial consultation will take 1 hour. During this time your nutritional therapist will discuss with you the health issue you would like to improve and explore what factors may be contributing to your symptoms. A personalised action plan is then agreed and is likely to include changes to your current eating habits, nutritional supplement programme and lifestyle recommendations. Laboratory tests may be recommended, if appropriate.
Progress will be monitored at monthly follow-up appointments and adjustments to your programme made as necessary.
