Margaret Wheeler
"I am married with 2 grown up children and 3 grandchildren. Before coming to homeopathy I worked in Medical Laboratories both in research and diagnostic work. I came to homeopathy in 1995 when suffering from yet another bout of reactive depression for which conventional medicine had completely failed me. I would be overwhelmed with suicidal feelings. Friends strongly advised me to see their homeopath as an alternative way of addressing the depression. I was in no state to argue.
A few days after the consultation 3 small white pills arrived in the post. "Is that all?" A short time later I kept moving my shoulders as I felt that the weight of the world had been lifted from them! Since then I have never looked back.
Within 15 months I was training to be a homeopath at the North West College of Homeopathy from where I graduated in 2000. For my postgraduate traing I studied with Jeremy Sherr on his Dynamis Course, graduating in 2002. An integral part of his course is to do a proving - a bringing into being of a new homeopathic remedy. The remedy was cygnus cygnus, made from the feather of the whooper swan. This remedy is an excellent choice for people who have become stuck in their grief and I use it frequently. Like any remedy there are also physical conditions that benefit from its use.
I have been practising at Alexandra Worsley's for 2 years. Here my client base is mostly women, with a few men and children. I like working with people who see homeopathy as an integral part of their life journey. Sometimes homeopathy can quickly fix a problem but greater healing comes from addressing the deeper issues and long held patterns of belief and behaviour.
I love working in a field which sees the whole person as important and looks at how their pathology came about in their life. We are not disconnected bodyparts and symptoms. We are whole beings with both a physical and spiritual nature. When this is in balance we are healthy."
