Dr.Hauschka Regime
You start your cleansing routine in the morning with a basin of warm water, we use Dr.Hauschka Lavender bath in our cleansing water, just 1 pump, the Lavender bath looks and feels like an oil but disperses into the water. The lavender bath softens water that can be very hard in certain areas due to all the chemical processes the water goes through. Lavender is very gentle and calming for the skin. Begin your routine by applying a warm compress to the skin. Warming the skin through before cleansing will relax the pores and allow the dirt to begin to come out more easily.
Using about 2cm of the cleansing cream, loosen it firstly between your hands with some of the lavender water. Apply the cream to the whole of the face, neck and decolette. Then use a press and roll technique, starting from the forehead and working outwards and down the face. This is stimulating and following the flow of the lymph system which carries all the toxins away from the skin. The press and roll technique creates a suction with the skin, lifting the dirt out, rather than a circular scrubbing action which is too harsh. For the same reason Dr.Hauschka does not recommend exfoliating the skin, exfoliators remove all of the skins own natural oils and the top layer of skin also before it is naturally ready to fall away. This speeds up the 28 day cycle of the skin having an ageing effect.
Remove the cleansing cream gently with a muslin cloth, then follow with a cool compress. The cool water tightens the pores back up, squeezing out any remaining dirt and exercises the muscle in the pore, helping to strengthen and refine the skin.
Toning is the next step in the cleansing routine, spritz the facial toner over the face and neck, no need for cotton wool, this just wastes the product. Dr.Hauschka’s facial toner helps with the elasticity of the skin, evens out skin tone and acts as a carrier for the moisturiser. Without a toner the moisturiser tends to just sit on the surface of the skin and is not properly absorbed.
Whilst the skin is still damp from the toner apply your moisturiser to suit your skin condition at the time, you are then ready to apply a dusting of translucent powder for protection for the day, or apply your makeup.
In the evening you would start with a pre cleanse if you have been wearing makeup. Dr.Hauschka’s cleansing milk is a light, gentle fluid, ideal for removing makeup. Then follow the cleanse and tone process as in the morning. In the evening you should not apply a moisturiser, your toner is your fluid preparation for the night time. It is important to allow your skin to breathe overnight, oils or moisturisers can prevent this, hindering your skin from behind able to breathe out the toxins that have built up during the day. Also by applying a moisturiser at night you are not giving your skin a chance to produce its own natural oils so this slows down the production of sebum and encourages your skin to become lazy and sluggish.
