When was the Caudalie brand developed and by who?
Caudalie was founded in 1995, by Mathilde Thomas.
What was/is the inspiration behind the brand?
Caudalie was founded when Dr Vercauteren, (a world renowed vine specialist from the University of Pharmacy in Bordeaux) discovered that the polyphenols in vines and grapes have the ability to keep us looking younger for longer with their extraordinary anti-oxidant power. Caudalie is a natural range, is eco-friendly and is glamourous.
What does Caudalie stand for?
Caudalie is a unit of measurement of how long a fine wine lingers on the palette. The finer the wine the longer the Caudalie.
What are your personal favourite products and why?
- Vinoperfect Serum – it contains Viniferine, which has diminished my sun spots and brightens my skin.
- Premier Cru Eye Cream – this product is amazing, makes me look 5 years younger and really helps my dark circles.

What has been the proudest moment building the brand?
The brand works. It’s glamourous, natural, no nasties but still has clinical results. I love the background and the fact it’s made from grapes. The story behind Caudalie has made the company.
What is the future for Caudalie?
This year we are concentrating on new products, improving old lines, becoming more and more natural including the packaging and training everyone we can on Caudalie.
